It’s been a while since I’ve posted about the movies I’m watching. This is mainly because I’ve decided to concentrate on other important stuff that has been taking up my time.
This week (more like 15 minutes ago), I watched the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo – not the American remake which I haven’t seen as yet but the original Swedish version from 2009.
This is my second time watching The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. The first time I watched it was probably about two years ago when there was a lot of buzz about the remake that was going to be made.
When I watched it back then, I saw it with subtitles but this time it was dubbed. I enjoyed it a lot back when I had first seen it and it’s a great mystery movie with a bad-ass female hacker called Lisbeth Salander.
The movie is based on a trilogy of novels in a series called Millennium, which is named after the newspaper that Mikael, the male lead, works for.
The film is about Mikael trying to find out what happened to a girl who disappeared over 40 years ago and is aided in his search by Lisbeth. Lisbeth is the title character and is played with excellence by Noomi Rapace.
It’s a really enjoyable mystery that I can’t yet compare with the remake. I’ll have to add that to my IMDB watchlist.
Update: I watched the American remake and I can’t say that I enjoyed it as much as the original. I was bored half the time for some reason.
But it was a very good remake as far as sticking to the story, the acting and the whole vibe, I can’t lie about that. I just think that the pace was too slow.
